How do I convert kilograms to pounds?

How many grams is one cup?
A US cup is 236.6 ml of volume; the weight depends on the ingredient. For water it is about 237 g, for flour about 120 g. Volume-to-weight needs the ingredient's density.

Why do recipes use decilitres?
Nordic recipes measure liquids and dry goods in decilitres (1 dl = 100 ml). This converter handles dl directly, which most sites do not.
